Bit of a slow start tonight. Beginnings of scenes can be hard for me. I've done about three hundred words of the start of the final scene, finally transitioning from the end of the 3rd scene, trying to sum up what happened between the moments without dragging the reader through yet more smut, but setting it up for the final smut. I am sticking with my original idea as I can't think of a suitable alternative at this point and I don't want the story to be too serious in the end, and I think the final conclusion is kind of nice, but getting from point A to the very important point B will be kind of hard. I have a bit of an epilogue bit which I'm a bit fond of, but it may have to be axed...

Did some research tonight on more porny parts, found a forum that was about the kink I was working on so I trolled it for some good info, I learned a lot that will HOPEFULLY keep it a bit on the realistic-ish (realistic-esque?) side... I mean there's only so much the human body can endure!

Sent 200 words of some original fic to my writing workshop teacher so she can crit it for the class. Im so looking forward to the class which is:

A writer's job is to make the reader believe. This workshop gives you concepts and tools to make your reader breathe your air, walk your landscape, and connect with your protagonist. Through exercises and discussion you'll learn how to get readers to long for your world and dream your characters' dreams. Be prepared to work hard and take risks.

COLOR ME READY!!!

The instructions were to send 200 words of your current work, but sadly I didn't send any of my fan fic stuff to her. It would've been nice, but the last workshop I went to oddly enough the folks went OFF about fan fic, it was like woah! Some published author had a fan come up to her and say I'm a writer I write fan fic and I guess that statement REALLY offended the author... Such elitism!

Anywho, I'm hoping that I can take my learnings (apologies for business lingo: learnings *hurl*) back to my current WIP, but it kind of sucks as the class isn't until 4/15... So I hope to polish it as much as I can and then learn the shit out of the workshop and then apply it to my story. I LOVE LEARNING THINGS!! I do have a 3rd part of NewSub!John Headspace in mind so maybe I'll start that in the meantime... maybe something a bit lighter in tone...

Anywho, had a good day, I did 2 crits which were really fun, the prose styles and subject matter were so different from each other and both so very interesting and both really cool cool pieces. It's so neat to explore so many corners of the fandom and see the Sherlock BBC world through so many unique lenses. I really enjoyed them both! Plus, it made me go look up grammar questions and words and usages that I was unfamiliar with, so I gleaned some extra knowledge as well. Double plus good, that.

Well so much for finishing my first draft by my birthday, but ah well, I've rewritten so much so I guess it wasn't realistic. New goal is to be red penning the shit out of it by next weekend. Cursing like merchant marine tonight... for some reason

PS:  ended up getting second wind and oddly inspired and jammed on some more words in scene 4 and have been working on fleshing out descriptions throughout, trying to get more in John!Headspace. I really should go to bed.  But this piece is SLOWLY working away from suckytown to a suburb of suckytown... :-)
