3:50AM Day 19
-some
Total (I don't even know yet)
Draft is now 16 pages. I've edited 7.5 today, which basically means each draft is taking half the time as the previous. V2 = 4 days, v3=2? The goal is to get through v3 tomorrow and then read it over for a v4 push sat/sunday. I read it over last night, not able to wait until today to see the damage. It was kind of cleaner than I expected at the time (last night at 1AM) , but tonight after digging in again, I'm still tweaking and cutting a lot. I find myself reading paragraphs over and over aloud, trying to get cadence right. Testing if sentences are too long (yes some still are, but alas) Even though I don't think anyone reads aloud when they read fics unless they podfic, the sound of it all is still very important to me.

So all in all, progress is being made. I'll be excited to add a few thousand more words to this 'verse, when I get there... I think a part, okay a big 98% part of me is scared of ending this, I've been having such a fun time in edit mode (my favorite mode) and when this is done I go back to the slog that is pulling a first draft from your veins onto the page. I'll be pure producing for months after this is done, between the book and Sub!John (back to Sundays) #5, it will be probably 2013 before I get back into some kind of edit mode and that much output... CRAZY MAKING!!!
It's interesting. For me, writing the first draft is torture... re-writing the second and subsequent drafts is the YAY part of writing. Unfortunately you have to do one before the other... but then after a long while I'll get edit sub!John and book and those will be good times... well, gooder...but there will always be blogging, it keeps me sane during the output.
Words in the void, yo. <--- in both the rap music and Japanese particle for emphasis sense.
