Back home from the wild

So we left the retreat early to get a headstart on the wind rain and darkness. By the time 3:45 rolled around I was more than ready to get on the road. Anjai and I came to the conclusion that perhaps we hadn't found the right retreat but we did get things out of it, which is all one can really ask for.
All in all it was an interesting experience, but I didn't write a word when I was there, I just relaxed. Which I needed. I did think a lot and brainstormed and plotted and worked on seeing characters more clearly. I also killed more flies. A lot of questions were asked. Is this the book you should be writing? Why are you writing this... GO DEEPER!! things of this nature. My almost first draft first chapter was looked at. Which was cringe worthy as... well, it's a first draft and most likely wont even end up in the book, so it was odd sending it as a representative of the work, but I suppose that was all I had. The crit went good, but realistically, it's not like they're going to tell you that you're crap.
I think at this point I'm still in the semi-floundering stage of things. Still at the startish of the whole endeavor. It will be nice but difficult to get back into the swing of novel writing after this Sub!John finishing hiatus... <--- which is a good thing. I really wish I was better at multiproject juggling... I really wish I was.
Okay heading away to book it.
