Total: ish
Since the middle of Switch, I've been flipping the order of the upcoming stories. Two new ones squeezed their way into line, another long one, which always makes me nervous, and a one-shot, which I like to do between long ones to not go crazy... and I was pretty certain where I wanted to go next until I went to clean my room and third idea popped into my head. It made me nervous and uncomfortable, so I think that's a good sign that I should write it. I think it has stuck, as I've started filling random pages in my notebook with paragraphs as I work on my current story.
I think by the time I'm done with "current random story", (I try to alternate between original and fanfic) I should hopefully ready to launch in to #...6? Yikes. 6. It's nice to look forward to projects. Not sure of a title, but I got me a code name. The Escape Artist. So that's another sign that it's got the anchors in. I think the order is set. And the good thing is that unlike Switch I don't have to wait a year to start writing it... End of May should be a good start. Just gotta get draft one of my other no named story complete... Damn titles... Damn words.
This is always kind of my favorite part, turning the idea over and over until it starts to become story shaped. And it's far away enough from the "Oh my god I'm starting another one." fingers to keyboard part to make it still fun ;-)
