mugenmine | Going back to Tokyo... at least in my mind

So somehow between yesterday and two minutes ago I decided to change the setting of my next fic: code name: Top Gear.... The boys are going to Tokyo. If I can't fucking go back to Japan, I'll do so in my mind. I really want to write about the city. It's my first love really. I'd never been in love with a place before until I moved to Tokyo. I fucking love that city, I walked that city for hours a day for five years and dug in deep and rolled around in it and I miss it, it's like a phantom limb, a phantom place now... so I want to be there again. I was stuck as to where to start the next story and how to get into John's head and I figured, wow, what nice way to get into a headspace by having someone explore someplace that is so very foreign to them. It's home to me in many ways, but I think I could have fun doing John in Tokyo as at least a backdrop, for the rest of the story I am planning to tell... And I can see Mr Adler setting up shop in Omotesando or Ebisu or Roppongi very easily, it kind of suits him perfectly... So now I feel like it's falling into place. I want to be able to scene set more, world build a little bit more as that is a skill I need to work on... so I think that will be a focus, trying to make the city into a character in itself, even if it is only the backdrop, and poor John just wants to find someplace to eat while he waits for Sherlock and the story to begin...

hrm, okay well I had a very unsuccessful attempt at starting my novel... My fucking Sub!John muse is yelling too loudly at me and I have to follow it... If I don't follow the word flow then it won't happen for me... so tomorrow... Top Gear begins... novel, ye shall have to wait your turn... well at least I'll do this one as a world building exercise so it still applies... Running towards Tokyo... cursing...
