Another washed out day

I have mummy hands, people always give you the strangest looks and wonder what kind of injury you must have sustained, when the backs of your hands are covered in white tape with strange raised patterns underneath... it's like you've been dabbling in the black arts and ended up with sigils branded on your skin... that's what I would imagine, if I saw hands like mine. (and had no idea how henna worked...)
Got home only an hour ago after all day of being out and work and doing things not wanted to be done. A bit itchy from not getting the words down but now I'm too tired to formulate fiction, so blogging will suffice.
Today consisted of a disappointing cookie, being stood up for lunch, taking over management of additional department, (why they allow me to make big decisions, I'll never understand), missing a private screening of batman, being at the mercy of really fucking slow buses, being forced to listen to G-Love and Special Sauce, two hours of henna, crazed developers, being talked at for a REALLY long time, twenty minutes of writing at "lunch" and scrawling down an action outline for chapter 2 on the bus ride from hell. At least I have an action outline, and I'm marked up for Sunday.
Tomorrow is make up day for not writing. Will get home early at least and try to words on page it. Chapter two looks a bit hinky to navigate. But at least it's mapped out from start to end, finding the details in-between is the uncharted and exciting part, I just have to get him to the door.

Date: 2012-07-20 03:49 pm (UTC)Henna sounds interesting, though. How does it work? Your hand descriptions were a little creepy. :)
Ick, not writing. I'm writing today, I think. Today is a good day to try and finish the story (or, y'know, write more backstory. I'm open to the universe's whims).

Date: 2012-07-20 06:27 pm (UTC)Henna is cool, they draw on your skin with a thick natural dye, so it's like having a raised layer of like gel on your skin that dries, but you have to tape it over and leave it on for hours. Then after you peel it off and scrape off the dried gel and about 24 hours it takes on it's true deep brown color. it stains your skin for about a week. I'll upload a pic :-)
Good luck on your story/backstory today! Let the universe move you to where the story needs to go ;-) I look forward to the end result! :-)

Date: 2012-07-21 03:35 am (UTC)Ah, I've never done henna (obviously), and that sounds really interesting.
Thanks! I was so exhausted after going out today (it's 105 here) that I didn't feel like writing. But it's percolating in there...I can feel it.
