Today was the last day with the 'rents. I meant to hang out on the roof deck at the place my parents are staying at and edit Johnlock, stare at Lake Union and watch the boats go by and soak up the sun, but instead I had my Tarot done, then went down to the basement, curled up under some blankets and napped for three hours. I woke up, looked at the clock and was like oh yeay it's 3:25 I still have ninety minutes to get some work in and I wandered up to the roof and my folks were like it's 5:20. *blink*
So instead, we went out for pizza, and I went home and rewrote a page and a half... *sigh*
BUT, the page and a half I rewrote is probably the most important part of the damn story so this is okay. Pen and paper didn't work this time. Well I thought they would but then I saw that MAJOR restructuring needed to be done. So I had to bust out the Scrivener and just cut and paste around and add in headspace and more dialogue and more... and more... Now I have ten pages of action left to edit, which will have to get trimmed and headspaced and POV'd and oh my it's rough. It's like wow, well they are whole sentences, so that's good, and there are parts that definitely need to be excised... and more ways for them to do things sixteen ways of wrong.
Holy hell... Having to go back to work after five days off should be listed in the CIA book of torture techniques... I have four hours of planning meetings to run and I have no idea if the building has burned down in my absence. Well I'll find out tomorrow. Now I'm going to watch some fucking Teen Wolf. I've gotten hooked on that show. But not enough to read or write fic for it. Hells I can barely handle one fandom...

Is it rude to ask about Tarot readings? Because I am curious.
I agree about the torture techniques. You're just barely used to free time and then bam! No more of that. Best of luck with your meetings.

Date: 2012-09-19 07:27 pm (UTC)Oh no, Tarot is cool. I do my own readings all the time. It's quite easy after awhile and if you're into that sort of thing... I was not surprised at all with my reading. I've been seeing a lot of the same cards as of late...
Teen Wolf. It's better than I thought it would be. It's enjoyable, kind of ridiculous and I dig the characters. I just finished the first season last night and I thought it was really well done. I'm looking forward to the second season. I think 3rd starts up soon. It's only 12 eps a season so it's not too crazy. I'd give it a try, if you like supernatural high school dramas... :-D
Hope to get to some editing today. But my mind is kind of mush and this first round of edits is kind of taxing... Oh man, why did I think a one-shot would be easy! LOL!

I flirted with Tarot a bit. Have a set of cards, actually, but I never really did much reading for myself. Found it a little too mystical at the time. Now I want to go and dig them out...
Yeah, series that become popular generally have at least one saving grace. I'm all about the supernatural high school shenanigans, or, at least, I used to be.
Take a nap! Maybe we could word/beta war later? I need to make progress too!
