Did @1000 over the past two days. Last night I was too exhausted to even attempt to do the process thing. After two months I went back to dance class and I was two left feet and a overly weak back. I only lasted through 90 minutes and came home beaten, but I did put down the words. Chapter 2 is a strange thing. It's an okay thing, and a quieter incarnation than the first one. I know there are more subtleties and subtext to explore, but I'm doing a bit of the blatant action broad strokes to get the ideas on the page. Lots of repeating things! I feel a little bored with the story at the moment but I think it's because it's 25 days later and I'm still on fucking chapter 2! I mean I just want to get to the sexy times that are chapter 3-4-5... I don't want much.
So my goal... I am addicted to goals even if I throw them out the window four minutes later. But my current goal is to finish Chapter 2 by Friday or EOD Friday. I'm about 1500 in and I can't see more than another 1000 on this thing. (if that) I am in crunch time at work which means nights and weekend are lost at the company, but the one good thing about that is that as I am mainly waiting for others, I can spend my late hours writing Johnlock in my notebook and I kind of hope I'll be able to get a lot done in the wee hours as I wait for devs to throw things over the wall. I hope this works! I have to get a draft 0 done by the end of 2012. Seriously!
I've been thinking about an idea for another series after Sub!John is over. I kind of had a fear that I would be like aaaaaaand I'm done. That perhaps Sub!John was the end of it, or the only story in my system and maybe this will be true, I have probably another year until I'm finished with this damn thing at my pace, but I've always been a magic realism, dark fantasy person and I kind of want to dive into more of that. Hum, still a ways away, but I can't help but poke my nose into the possible futures.
